The Windmill
Bella Vista stands tall upon a hill, giving superb views of the Aegean Sea,
the Cyclades Islands and the beautiful villages and countryside that
surrounds Artemonas. Built in the
18th century, the windmill itself was originally an important commodity for
the island, processing a large volume of produce for the inhabitants. After
being left redundant in the 1950s, it quickly fell into disrepair, but work
began in 1997 to restore it. Today, the windmill itself is the centrepiece of
the hotel, offering you the chance to stay within its newly restored walls.
It is complemented by a number of whitewashed studios and apartments,
constructed in true Sifnos style with traditional stone architecture. |
